What to do about a greenish image or reflections of the Eye Tracker in glasses during video conferences

If you notice a greenish image or reflections of the Eye Tracker in your glasses during video conferences, it can be distracting. In this article, we explain the reasons behind this and how to fix the issue.

Why does my image appear greenish?

When working with NUIA, the Eye Tracker uses infrared light to detect where you're looking. Sometimes, this infrared light isn't properly filtered by the webcam, which can cause your image to appear green in video calls.

Why do I see reflections in my glasses?

If you wear glasses, you might notice reflections of the infrared light from the Eye Tracker in your lenses.

How to fix the greenish effect and reflections

To resolve the issue of the greenish image and reflections, you can enable a specific setting in the NUIA settings:

  • Go to your NUIA settings under Eye Control, then to Misc Options.
  • Enable the option "Turn off Eye Tracker while webcam is active."

By enabling this setting, the Eye Tracker will automatically deactivate when your webcam is active. This will prevent both the greenish effect and reflections in your glasses.

Please note that during this time, you won’t be able to use NUIA. The Eye Tracker will automatically reactivate once the webcam is inactive.
